Home of Sectuib Zoe Farris and her Companion, Eliza Leahy

So much news...

Let's see - we will skim over the bit where I got a bit burnt (at my age!) playing stupid resistence games with Zoe.  I know that her anti kill conditioning isn't worth a hill of beans and it was my own fault, but the 10 day headache was enough to teach me never to do it again.  But that was two transfers ago, so we won't mention it.

Instead let's look at something pretty.  This is a Farris keyring I made for Zoe out of ebony and another one that is for sale at etsy (http://elvenhair.etsy.com).  So buy one for your favourite Farris today!  Of course, if you are a Farris, your favourite Farris is probably you...  (did I say that out loud?)

New Story... and - ohhhh dear
Sime Gen Householding

I've put up a new story on the secret pens.  I started writing it, but as the main bulk of it was to be a conversation between two people, a junct rensime and a gen, I asked Zoe if she would like to role play it with me.

I edited it, and I hope that I got all the changes in tense, but I have a feeling that I didn't!  So please forgive me for any errors.

It's a PDF - if it looks too small or too large on your screen you can easily adjust the size of the text.

http://www.secretpens.org/halwyn/elizastories.html - the top on - "Road to Damascus"

In case you don't get the reference, the Apostle Paul was converted on the road to Damascus.

I hope you enjoy it - first piece we have written this way.

And the "ohhh dear" in the subject line?  Never ask Zoe Farris to play a junct sime...

Simes cooking dinner

Oh dear.  Last night Zoe decided that, after her mistake with the cherries she would make me dinner.  I cringed, but she was trying to be nice after all.

I hear crashes from the kitchen and after much to do she comes in holding the biggest mixing bowl we own.  She has chopped up three letuce (what is it she has about the number three?) and two tom thumb tomartos (those are the little miniature ones) and she presents me with the whole bowl!

I had to eat all of it, I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

I never want to see letuce again.

UPDATE

As an appology for her comment on the SimeGen mailing list  (and I quote "Yes, we are all human, even Gens are human, so i am told. ;)") Zoe came home with...

2 packets of ginger
2 bottles of strawberry milk
2 mars bars
2 icecreams

and SIX donuts!

All for me!

What can I do but forgive her?

Simes can occasionally be nice...

It's stone fruit season here in Australia.  I love stone fruit!  We have such a short season of it that I like to eat as much of it as possible.

So my darling Channel drops into the shops on the way home from work and picks me up some.

She proudly pulls out the bag when she gets home and presents it to me as precious gift.  What did she get me?

3 cherries.

I think she needs another lesson in gen hunger!

A New Story...

I hope to be able to post my new story "Beauty is only Zlin Deep" on the Secret Pens very shortly!

The Secret Pens?  What are the Secret Pens you ask, somewhat concerned.

Don't worry - the Secret Pens is just a fan site, nothing too scary! (oh, ok, just a little bit scary)

www.secretpens.org

But don't tell anyone - it's a secret.

(later that evening...)

I finished it!!!!!!  I can't believe that I finished it.  It's so long, and it's sooooo.....  Well, I want you to read it, so I'm not going to give any clues!

A very Halwyn Christmas
Sime Gen Householding
[info]halwyn
Christmas 2008 was Halwyn's 10th Christmas.  The weather bloomed, as usual for Queensland, Australia, hot and humid for Christmas day, with a thunderstorm the night before.

Although this post is "a very Halwyn Christmas" the action actually takes place the day before.

Sectuib Zoe Farris was floating around in the swimming pool.  The weather being what it was I joined her.  As it so often does after turnover, the conversation turned to transfer.  This time, we were discussing, foolishly on my part at least, junct transfer, or, to be more precise, holds.

You see, it's all very well to say that if a gen were to press on nodes....  well, you know the old story.  But what junct raider in his right mind is going to let a gen come anywhere near him PALMS UP?  I mean, think about it - the gen is no doubt running away, the sime comes up on them from behind and grabs whatever happens to be at tentacles reach.  They would swing the gen around, transfer (oh, ok, kill) would be almost instantaneous from that point - the gen would not have time to think about hand positions.

So here we are in the pool, in the cool, calm water, trying different wrist positions, pulling apart, trying something different, pulling apart again.  Next thing I know - and a week early - well, maybe you can imagine it.

Needless to say, I was incensed!!!  I felt betrayed, cheated - worse!  Zoe gloated, which did not improve things.

But you know what?  Taking transfer a week early might have done me a favour.  You see, not next month, but the one after, it actually puts us to within hours of my birthday.  And she owes me big time!

But as she pointed out later, when I had stopped hollaring, I had raised her intil by pulling away, not once, not twice, but three times.  What did I expect?

And shameface I have to admit it.  It hadn't occured to me - to me it had all be theoretical.

So I have to forgive her, after all, she is only Sime.
